A Novel Escape Retreat Policies & Agreements

1. Payment, Deposit & Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we do our best to be fair while ensuring we can successfully host and prepare for our retreats. By booking a retreat with us, you agree to the following payment and refund timelines.

Chapter Two: Petals & Pages

A $250 deposit per guest is required to reserve your room.
Until February 1, 2026, deposits may be refunded.
After February 1, 2026, deposits become non-refundable.
Remaining balance is due by March 1, 2026.
After March 1, 2026, all payments become non-refundable.

Chapter Three: Court of Queens

A $250 deposit per guest is required to reserve your room.
Until July 1, 2026, deposits may be refunded.
After July 1, 2026, deposits become non-refundable.
Remaining balance is due by August 1, 2026.
After August 1, 2026, all payments become non-refundable.

Failure to complete final payment by the due date may result in cancellation of your reservation with no refund.

Transfers, replacements, or credits to future retreats may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of A Novel Escape.

2. Dietary Preferences, Restrictions & Allergies Policy

We want every guest to feel comfortable and cared for, and we strive to offer accommodating and delicious meals throughout your stay.

Guests must disclose any dietary restrictions or food allergies at the time of registration so we may plan accordingly.

We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate dietary needs, however:

We cannot guarantee an allergen-free kitchen or environment.
Guests with severe allergies must bring any necessary emergency medications.
A Novel Escape and its partners are not liable for reactions or medical incidents related to undisclosed or pre-existing allergies.

Your safety is important to us, and communication ahead of time helps us prepare for the best experience possible.

3. Liability & Personal Responsibility Waiver

By attending an A Novel Escape retreat, you acknowledge and agree that:

You participate voluntarily and are responsible for your own health, safety, and behavior.
You release A Novel Escape, its owners, hosts, vendors, and property owners from all liability for injuries, losses, or damages that may occur during travel to, from, or during the retreat.
You understand that activities may involve movement, outdoor environments, stairs, hot tubs/pools, or other conditions that may carry inherent risk.
You agree to act respectfully and responsibly toward other guests, staff, and property.

Guests are responsible for any damages to retreat property or belongings that occur due to negligence or misconduct.

4. Media & Photography Release

We love capturing the magic of each retreat — the stories, the laughter, and the moments that remind us why we gather.

By attending an A Novel Escape retreat, you grant permission for photos and video including your likeness to be used for:

Marketing & promotional content
Website & social media
Printed materials
Future event advertising

If you prefer not to be photographed, please notify us in writing prior to arrival. We will do our best to honor your preference and will not intentionally use identifiable images of guests who have opted out.

5. Force Majeure & Host Cancellation Policy

In the rare event that A Novel Escape must cancel or postpone a retreat due to circumstances beyond our control — including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, illness, venue issues, acts of government or emergency — we will provide one of the following:

You will receive either:

Transfer of your reservation to the rescheduled retreat OR
A retreat credit equal to the amount paid toward a future retreat

Refunds may not be available in circumstances outside our control. We highly encourage guests to consider travel insurance for personal protection.

If A Novel Escape cancels for reasons unrelated to force majeure, guests will receive a full refund of payments made.
